Girls in gangs abused
A report from the Centre for Social Justice has shown that thousands of girls and young women experience brutality and exploitation as part of gang culture. The study, carried out with XLP, said that sexual exploitation, guns and drug-running are ‘a daily reality’ for thousands of young women. The report, entitled ‘Girls and Gangs’, builds on CSJ and XLP’s previous studies on the impact of gang-related activities on communities and calls for urgent action to fight the problem, criticising the Home Office for not doing enough to fight gang culture since the 2011 riots.
